Week 10 - Entrepreneurship and the Young World

At the early age of every youngsters who is still looking for the purpose of life, having fun and working hard for money, Dato’ Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman had already far ahead. In the heart of this
31 years old young man from Kuala Lipis, Pahang, there is determination, commitment, courage that transcends everything else and aim to hold an extraordinary success in business. 

           To go through the story of this D’Herbs Holding (M) Sdn. Bhd.’s Managing Director is like listening to a “storytelling” about a story of a 5 to 12 years old kid that have been scorned and ignored by children at his age because he was dense, as he was in the “kelas pemulihan” starting from standard one to standard six. This sad story of Dato’ Aliff ’s continued until he was in Form 1 to form 5 as he failed his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). During that time, everyone assumes that there is no hope for him to success in life. 

            However, for this young man, he knows that it is not the ending for his future. Because of his deep interest in doing business, he keeps his reverie to do business. With RM450.00 as a capital, he opens up a cosmetic stall at a morning market in Seksyen 13, Kelana Jaya and Sri Andalas on every weekends. Unexpectedly, his business was accepted by everyone.

           His talkative character successfully attract his customer. His interest in the cosmetic world have
brought him to widen up his business and he tried to apply for a loan from the bank, but rejected. As he get help from his friends who convinced the bank officer, he successfully get the capital of RM100,000. With that money, it changed Dato’ Aliff Syukri’s life.

PROGRESS OF FINAL PROJECT

ROAD TO FINAL PRESENTATION

Tonight we held a short group discussion to continue the progress for our final presentation. We did a lot of research based on the topic that we choose for our final project which is traditional clothes. We list out all the states in Malaysia that has unique traditional clothes and collected all the pictures for our presentation. Since there are more task that we need to do, so we divided our part to save the time. Bella and Syawanis will find the ideas of the video while Amirah and me are working on the pictures.

Luckily, we have Syawanis and Amirah as our group’s artist to draw all the pictures for our video. The drawing is going to be use in our stop motion video. As for the next progress, we will focus on our video timeline and the animation.

WEEK 4- Revision Day

This week we do the exercise for the reading and writing quizzes. We had discussed reading question about "Impact of Mental Illness Stigma" and a persuasive essay about the same topic. We discussed to get the idea of how to answer the quiz for the assessment.

WEEK 3 - Source of Happiness

The theme for week 3 is “Source of Happiness”. So our group decided to pick the topic about how the internet can give happiness to youngsters. We had done some questions and do a survey among the students. 

From the survey, students find happiness from the internet is through online applications such as games, social media, Youtube player, and online shopping applications. The online applications help the students to flash out their stress and tiredness during the study time. For boys, they often playing the online game during leisure time while for girls, they prefer to watch drama or movie through an application like Youtube player and Facebook. 

The majority of the students state that the internet can give them happiness through social media such as Instagram, Twitter, Whatapps and Telegram. They find that borderless interactions can make them feel free to share whatever they want to other people. This technology helps them to show the world what is special about them. 
Nowadays, many youngsters show their talent through online applications and they get attention. Furthermore, except for socializing, students also find happiness through online shopping applications such as Shoppe and Lazada. These applications are popular among female students.  From the survey conducted, the internet not only give happiness to users but the internet also give benefit to society.

WEEK 2 - Introduction to English for General Communication

Assalamualaikum and hello. This blog is about our activity during English class for semester 2. We started our class in week 2 because of the Chinese New Year celebration in week 1. Our lecturer, Madam Adila Hakimi gave a briefing about this course, UVW201. This course is a continuous assessment course for the entire semester, so we do not have the final examination for this course. 

After that, we continued our class by introducing ourselves one by one. From that, we got to know each other even better. We need to the tell about ourselves something that the classmate did not know such our talent, family background, hometown, hobby, behaviours and others.
